About Cowabunga

We’re Kellie & Justin. We’re building Cowabunga together.

Partners in life and in business, we built Cowabunga Cloud around the things we care about: bringing people together, solving practical problems, and creating something of our own. Entertainment, technology, and Clouds & Chaos are all part of that shared venture.

Our story

One shared venture. Both of us behind it.

We bring different strengths to Cowabunga, and we’re building it together. Our shared love of music, community, and practical work connects the events we help create, the digital problems we tackle, and the conversations we share.

We bonded over karaoke and deep conversations. We’re parents to four daughters, and our first podcast recordings happened in a closet. That mix of everyday life, humor, and honest conversation became Clouds & Chaos.

Cowabunga grows out of that same partnership. We want our work to feel personal, welcoming, and useful to the families, businesses, and organizations in our community.

Meet the partners

Different strengths. Shared purpose.

Cowabunga partner

Kellie

Kellie brings people, personality, and community into the heart of Cowabunga. A PTO organizer with a gift for bringing people together, she brings a candid perspective, quick wit, and a love of a good celebration to what we’re building.

On Clouds & Chaos, she goes by April. Her humor and honest take on relationships, parenting, and everyday life help shape the conversations we share.

Cowabunga partner

Justin Poehls

Justin is a U.S. Army veteran, technology professional, entrepreneur, and Computer Science student. He brings an operations background to websites, data, automation, and the practical details behind an event.

On Clouds & Chaos, he goes by Sensei: the curious co-host who brings structure, big questions, and a love of Ninja Turtles to conversations about family and life.

Clouds & Chaos

Our conversations continue behind the mic.

Clouds & Chaos is our podcast about relationships, parenting, social expectations, and the humor in everyday life. We each bring our own perspective to the microphone, just as we do to Cowabunga.

Cowabunga philosophy

Useful systems should stay understandable.

The philosophy is simple enough to guide technology projects, entertainment planning, and community work.

Systems thinking

Look at how work, information, tools, and people actually move before deciding what to build.

Practical technology

Favor understandable tools and focused improvements over bloated platforms or vague promises.

Community and resilience

Support smaller organizations, local events, and independent operators with systems that can hold up.

Ethical automation

Use automation to reduce friction while keeping people responsible for important judgment calls.

Experimentation

Keep learning, testing, and building useful things without pretending every idea needs to become a giant platform.

Accessible technology

Make modern tools available to smaller organizations, not only large enterprise teams.

Technology should reduce friction rather than create it. Automation should support people rather than remove judgment where it matters. Systems should be resilient, understandable, and useful.

Work with Cowabunga

Bring a system problem, an event plan, or an early idea.

The first conversation can focus on what needs to change and what a sensible next step looks like.
